The students created myths of their own during class. The project was intended for students to write heroic tales and quests. They used themes like good vs evil. Gods and goddesses helped the heroes find their way. They added artwork to help the readers visualize the hero and setting. Below you will see a few examples of the artwork, and the first paragraph of one successful myth.
Long ago in Ancient Greece during the summer there was a young woman named Avia. She is strong , brave, smart, determined and very clever. Avia has long brown hair swept into a ponytail. She also has large pretty light brown eyes. One day her sister told her that Athena needed to see her at Mount Olympus. She was very nervous and wondered why she wanted to see her. When she got to Mount Olympus Athena told her that she has to go on a quest to defeat a three headed tiger with a large group of men........
This month at school students are practicing being kind to each other. Random Acts of Kindness, or RAK are being recorded by students and teachers, shared with the class and entered into a database.
